Brian Pilecki, PhD
My path into psychedelics began around 2000, when I first encountered their remarkable potential for healing, personal transformation, and spiritual exploration. That early curiosity shaped everything that followed — from graduate training at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where I focused on psychedelics, non-ordinary states of consciousness, and contemplative traditions, to a clinically focused PhD in psychology emphasizing mindfulness-based therapies, anxiety disorders, and trauma. Today, virtually every aspect of my professional life revolves around psychedelic-assisted therapy in one form or another. I conduct research as a study therapist on multiple clinical trials, train other clinicians as an instructor for Fluence's psilocybin facilitation certificate program, and provide direct care to clients — all in service of advancing this work responsibly and effectively. Being part of Oregon's Psilocybin Services program feels like a meaningful culmination of that 25-year journey, and I'm genuinely excited about it.
When we work together, my top priority is building enough safety and trust that you can fully make the most of your psilocybin experience — including thoughtful preparation beforehand and integration afterward so that the benefits last. Through individual sessions and group retreats, I have overseen more than 300 journeys, and I deeply respect that each person's path is their own. I meet clients wherever they are — whether that's a religious framework, a spiritual lens, an atheist worldview, or genuine uncertainty — and I keep your beliefs and values at the center of our work.
As a gay or queer cis-man with lived experience of both privilege and marginalization, welcoming clients of all backgrounds — across race, gender identity, sexuality, and beyond — is something I'm actively committed to. Whatever brings you to this work, you will be met with respect, care, and genuine curiosity about who you are and what matters to you. And while I bring professionalism and deep commitment to this work, I also bring warmth and a sense of humor. It's an honor to be part of someone's journey, and I don't take that lightly.
